We found Monsieur Hergott and all his staff very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent. This was our 3rd time staying at 'Village Gaulois' and hopefully we will be back next year.

This was marginally worth the money. Hotel was clean, but with no shampoo or complimentary blow dryer, I didn't wash my hair for two days. I expect a 70 eruos a night hotel to have these things. Also breakfast a 10 Eruos a person for basically bread, jam and juice is too high. hotel was clean, but it is not in Verdun -- more like 15 miles North.

The room was spacious and clean, plus it had a nice patio to hang out. 🌿 This place is situated in the countryside near the border with Belgium and close to a beautiful French national park. there's a restaurant right on site for convenience.

Location: the hotel was close enough to a beautiful area as well as the historical monuments. Plus, it was about 10 minutes' drive to Chattancourt. Our room was spotless and airy, offered with a balcony downstairs, beautiful handcrafted wooden tables, "free " WiFi...

This is an interesting hotel with an unusual design, one of a kind we think. The setting is picturesque, and it is convenient to the attractions associated with Verdun.
We had a difficult time finding the hotel. We didn't realize that it was two towns away from Verdun. It was easy to reach once we knew the way, but the basic information provided about the hotel should have given better directions.

The menu had a diverse range of options, catering to both adventurous eaters and those looking for more familiar dishes. the breakfast spread was also impressive, with a wide variety of foods to choose from. the staff were friendly and despite the language barrier, they made an effort to accommodate guests. the rooms were comfortable and provided a good night's sleep.
The check-in process was confusing and it took a while to locate someone to help us. the Wi-Fi code provided didn't work properly and the internet connection was unreliable.

Unique and beautifully original site, handbuilt by the proprieter personally. Very nice staff/attitude and good meal much above average, very reasonably priced. While the Verdun area is visited as rule for its historical associations rather than holkidays as such perhaps, this must be one of the best places in the area to stay.
